Cells that arrest in G1 following chromosome mis-segregation display genomic imbalances affecting more than 20% of their genome and show increased rates of segmental aneuploidy (42% of arrested cells), in contrast to cycling aneuploid cells which show imbalances in less than 5% of the genome. This indicates that severe karyotypic complexity is specifically associated with G1 arrest following mis-segregation events. [@santaguida_chromosome_2017]
